Canada's fishing legend, Bob Izumi, scored his first U.S. bass fishing tournament win last week. Bob won the EverStart Series Northern Division event on 1000 Islands (July 28 - 30, 2011). WFN reports that his three-day bass total was 15 bass that massed a substantial 58 pounds and 1 ounce.
The WFN article shares Izumi's tackle secret for his historic event:
"... he [Izumi] caught all of his tournament fish in 24 to 42 feet of water using a drop-shot rig tipped with a 3-inch watermelon pearl Gulp! Minnow or a 3-inch green pumpkin Gulp! Fry. His rig consisted of a ½- to 5/8-ounce weight on 10-pound-test Trilene Fluorocarbon and either a G. Loomis or Shimano Crucial drop-shot rod." Entire WFN article here
Congratulations Bob!
*I was able to exchange emails with Bob last November with a set of interview questions. His responses are here.
