According to the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance (USSA), the state of California, and its Governor Jerry Brown, have signed a new law requiring all firearms be registered with the state. The USSA article reports that,
"The bill, Assembly Bill 809, applies the state’s current handgun registration requirements to all firearms, including rifles and shotguns commonly used by sportsmen for hunting and recreational shooting. Sportsmen will now have to provide the state a laundry list of personal information anytime they buy or transfer a firearm. The information includes their name, address, place of birth, telephone number, and occupation as well as a detailed description of the handgun and the gun’s serial number." Entire Article Here
Muskoka Outdoors Opinion - The state of California must have some big dollars to waste. Especially, since the cost of Canada's gun registry is a waste of tax payer money - currently at billion plus dollars. I trust the criminals, terrorists, and other gun-crime idiots will be the first to register so that California can feel safer with a law that only targets law-abiding citizens. Perhaps, the Governor could watch this video about the questionable effectiveness of gun registries.
